People who understand you

We are a team of like-minded volunteers united by the desire to share experiences and help others.

Each of us has walked our own path of integration in Germany. We know the challenges migrants face, and we came together to make this process a little simpler, clearer, and warmer for you.

How we help

Individual advice

Together with you, we look at your current situation, professional and personal experience, goals, and expectations. Our role is not to replace specialists, but to help you understand your next steps and find free opportunities, including AVGS-funded courses, coaching, and internships.

Learning German

We understand how important the language is for life and work in Germany. We can point you to free courses, help you prepare for German exams, and explain programmes funded by the Jobcenter or AVGS.

Job search and career in Germany

We help you understand the German labour market and the steps needed to start or continue your career. We can help with your CV and cover letter and refer you to publicly funded training or career advice.

Basic financial literacy

Our volunteers explain basic aspects of taxes and financial life in Germany in simple language and share useful resources. We can also point you towards professional advice and learning materials.

Support when starting a business

We can discuss the first steps towards entrepreneurship in Germany. We do not provide legal or accounting advice, but we can show you where to find free seminars and expert advice, often funded through AVGS or other public programmes.

Help with everyday and official matters

Sometimes it is enough to have someone by your side. We can help with forms, documents, translations, and orientation at institutions such as the Jobcenter or Sozialamt, and help you find the right free support.

Challenges we can help with

  • Have you arrived in Germany and find it difficult to find your professional direction?
  • Are you being offered work below your qualification despite your experience?
  • Do you not know what to do if your diplomas and certificates were left at home or you do not have them?
  • Does the education system seem too complicated when planning the future for yourself and your children?

If these questions sound familiar, know that you are not alone. Many of our volunteers have faced similar difficulties. We are here to share our experience, support you, and find the best solution for your situation together.

AVGS voucher: free public support

Germany offers many programmes that help people find work or start a business. One of the most useful opportunities is the Activation and Vocational Integration Voucher (AVGS).

Our volunteers can explain what this instrument is and how to use it. We do not provide paid AVGS services; we share our knowledge so that you can access professional help completely free of charge.

AVGS information

What is an AVGS voucher?

In simple terms, an AVGS is a certificate issued by the Jobcenter or the Agentur für Arbeit. It covers 100% of the cost of services from certified specialists who can help you integrate into the labour market faster.

With this voucher you can receive free access to:

  • Individual career advice: Help preparing a CV, interviews, and a job-search strategy.
  • Further training courses: New professional skills that are in demand in Germany.
  • Support when starting a business: Help creating a business plan and planning the first steps (Existenzgründung).

Who can receive this voucher?

As a rule, an AVGS may be available to people who:

  • Are registered as jobseekers or unemployed.
  • Receive Bürgergeld or unemployment benefit ALG I.
  • Are at risk of losing their job.
  • Want to return to work after a long break, such as parental leave.
  • Need support integrating into the labour market, including refugees and migrants.
  • Plan to start their own business.

Many newcomers, especially people receiving Bürgergeld, meet these criteria. The voucher often depends on the decision of your Jobcenter adviser.

How can our team help you?

The voucher process can seem difficult because of language or bureaucracy. We can explain how AVGS works, help you prepare for a conversation with your Jobcenter adviser, formulate arguments for your request, and share information about certified organisations.

Our aim is to give you the knowledge you need to use this excellent public support opportunity confidently and independently.

Why ask us for advice?

  • We have personal experience: Many of our volunteers have gone through adaptation and job searching in Germany themselves.
  • We build community: We believe in mutual support and a friendly diaspora where everyone can help others.
  • We listen to you: Your goals and wishes matter. We help you find options that fit your situation.
  • We do this wholeheartedly: Our support is free and based on a genuine wish to help you succeed.

Our strength and why people trust us

Nodia is not a commercial organisation but a community of caring people. Many of us have gone through the process of adapting to Germany ourselves. We share our experience, support you, and help you move forward with confidence.

Practical help with finding work

  • Share knowledge of the labour market: We explain where to look for vacancies and which resources to use, and organise visits to job fairs and open days.
  • Support at interviews: If you need moral support, a volunteer can accompany you to a meeting.
  • Help finding an internship (Praktikum): We share ideas on finding a first opportunity in a new field.

Comprehensive support with adaptation

  • An experienced volunteer team: German, Ukrainian, and Arab volunteers help us understand language, culture, and local realities.
  • Moral and social support: We listen, advise on everyday matters, and can help at official institutions when there is a language barrier.
  • Orientation in financial matters: We explain basic concepts and point you to qualified tax or legal advice when needed.

Community, networking, and a personal approach

  • More than consultations: We organise outings and meetings where you can learn, make friends, and build your own circle.
  • An individual approach: Your story, experience, and goals are at the centre of our support.
  • Our goal is your confidence: We want you to understand how things work in Germany and leave with a clear plan.
